What Is A False Flag?

False flag is a term widely used by conspiracy theorists to describe events that seem to be an act of aggression towards a group of people but are carried out secretly by the same people to excuse the act of “retaliation” against another group of falsely accused people. In lamer terms, somebody makes another person seem to be the aggressor of a conflict through secret means. This allows them to appear to be the victim and a good guy but, they set the situation up this way.

This term originated from naval combat as, some ships swapped their flag briefly to appear as a friend but then attack the nearby “friendly” ship.

Historical False Flag Operations

Many historians debate whether or not the incidents listed below are false flag operations but, here are the three most famous false flag events that may or may not be confirmed to be true.

1) The Reichstag Fire

However, many historians agree that the Reichstag fire was in fact caused by the Nazis in order to sway people away from the communist party and secure Hitler as dictator. The Nazis, supposedly, burned down the Reichstag and blamed it on the Communist supporter, Marinus van der Lubbe. This would eventually lead to Nazi Germany and WW2.

2) Gulf of Tonkin Incident

On August 2nd, 1964, three North Vietnamese torpedo boats attacked a US destroyer, the USS Maddox. On August 4, the US Navy reported another unprovoked attack on the USS Maddox and the USS Turner Joy. This report was highly exaggerated by the President at the time. He then used this as an excuse to attack Vietnam and deploy troops.

3) 9/11

Many people believe that the terrorist attacks on the pentagon and twin towers were an inside job conducted by the US government. This would give the US an excuse to invade Afghanistan. This would lead to the several wars in the Middle East and create a war economy that allows the US to prosper as a highly militaristic country. This would allow the US direct access to oil and try to control that industry.

These are just the most famous false flag operations which have consequently shaped the world and led to numerous wars with other nations, often leading to disaster.
